Jones & Henry Engineers’ centennial anniversary is almost here.
As a new year approaches, it’s time to reflect on a remarkable journey that spans 100 years of innovation, resilience, and commitment to service. Jones & Henry Engineers, a regional powerhouse in water resource and sanitary engineering, has faithfully served communities across Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan since its founding in 1926.
A Legacy Begun in Toledo
The story of Jones & Henry began in Toledo, Ohio, when Harvey P. Jones established H.P. Jones & Company, focusing on sanitary engineering. Thomas B. Henry joined the firm shortly after, and his expertise in municipal engineering and townsite development helped broaden its early capabilities. Their partnership laid the groundwork for what would become a formidable consulting firm, dedicated to enhancing community infrastructure and public health.
For nearly a century, our firm has remained steadfast in its core specialization: water resources and sanitary engineering. From water treatment and wastewater management to stormwater solutions, Jones & Henry has continually prioritized the quality of life for the communities we serve.
Our journey has not been without challenges. The firm navigated the turbulent waters of the Great Depression and World War II, emerging stronger and more committed than ever. In 1944, we officially became Jones & Henry Engineers, marking a new era of growth and an unwavering commitment to engineering excellence. That resilience forged a legacy that continues to inspire us today.
A Commitment to Innovation
Throughout the decades, Jones & Henry has solidified our reputation as a trusted partner for municipalities and industries alike. With a portfolio boasting more than 7,000 projects for approximately 1,000 clients, our firm has played a significant role in local infrastructure improvements, sewer programs, and operational services for industrial wastewater plants.
The company has consistently embraced innovation, adapting to shifting regulatory landscapes, such as the Clean Water Act of 1972, while incorporating cutting-edge technologies into its practices. From our early adoption of chlorination to contemporary advancements like reverse osmosis and hydraulic modeling, Jones & Henry has been at the forefront of water management solutions.
Values that Drive Success
At the heart of our success lies a steadfast adherence to our core values: professionalism, strong relationships, and creating opportunities. Our commitment to high-quality engineering solutions not only addresses technical challenges but also emphasizes the overall well-being of the community.
Our hallmark “Fluid Thinking” approach has garnered Jones & Henry numerous awards and national recognition over the years. That unique perspective empowers us to tackle complex water challenges with creativity and expert solutions.
Looking to the Future
While rooted in its Toledo origins, Jones & Henry has expanded its reach across the region, opening offices in Indiana, Michigan, and other parts of Ohio. Our growth demonstrates a continued commitment to addressing the evolving needs of municipalities and industries.
As we celebrate our centennial anniversary, we take the opportunity to reflect on the enduring impact of Jones & Henry Engineers. We have consistently demonstrated a commitment to public health and environmental protection, significantly enhancing communities through the application of sound engineering practices.
