I have greatly enjoyed the last 20+ years of opportunities and experiences I have been exposed to while working at such a great company. Jones & Henry Engineers having been in business since 1926, has a resume with a long history of quality engineering work finding solutions to complex water problems. I am proud to have the opportunity to continue the good and important work of providing clean water that we do.
A former Principal of the firm once told me that from an early age, he knew he wanted to make water clean. He did a fantastic job at making a career of this and he retired as a well-respected member of the wastewater community. While I did not enter my career with such noble aspirations, with mentors such as him I learned that while our work is not necessarily glamourous (picture a headworks building) it is important.
The diversity of the staff is a key feature that makes this company so great. The younger individuals bring new ideas and approaches to our work, as well as the desire to want to learn and grow. While the more experienced members bring real-world experience of proven designs, great depth in understanding engineering concepts and applications, and the willingness to share their experiences for the benefit of not only the environment but the next generation that will continue our important work.
I started as an RPR right out of college, with a head full of theory and not necessarily an understanding of how to apply it. After continuing my education and experience and working under great individuals I have been able to advance to where I am today. Being about halfway through my career I look forward to what the future holds in my career at J&H.
