A Night at the BGSU Hockey Game
On Saturday, February 8, Jones & Henry Engineers team members gathered for an unforgettable evening at the BGSU hockey game, celebrating the memory of our friend and colleague, Neil D. Johnson. With icy excitement in the air and the energy of fellow Falcon fans filling the arena, we came together to support a cause close to Neil’s heart.
Neil, who passed away on January 26, 2023, left behind a remarkable legacy. His commitment as Director of Information Services at Jones & Henry was matched only by an unwavering passion for BGSU hockey. A proud Bowling Green State University alum, he was deeply involved with the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity and was admired for his dedication and leadership. It was fitting that we gathered to cheer on the Falcon hockey team and to honor sophomore forward Adam Schankula, who is carrying on Neil’s spirit as this year’s recipient of the Neil D. Johnson Memorial Scholarship.
Being at the game with Neil’s mother, Marie, and sister, Lona, allowed us to reminisce and share stories about Neil and his relentless support for the Falcons.
Neil’s passion for BGSU hockey was palpable, and that night, it was easy to feel his presence in the cheers and camaraderie of fellow fans. Supporting the scholarship established in his honor keeps his memory alive and ensures that future students can experience the same opportunities Neil cherished throughout his life.
As we continue to honor Neil’s memory, let’s also embrace the values he demonstrated—community, passion, and support for one another. Here’s to a great season of Falcon Hockey. And to Neil, who will remain a beloved part of the Jones & Henry and BGSU families.
