Jones & Henry Director of Underground Engineering Ted Bennett has been selected to present at the County Sanitary Engineers Association of Ohio (CSEAO) Summer Conference on June 4 and 5, 2018, at the Blackwell Inn and Pfhal Conference Center in Columbus, Ohio.
From 9:00 am – 10:00 am on Monday, June 4, Bennett will present on Lead Water Service Replacement. He will speak about a proactive approach to voluntary lead water service replacements – a topic which many communities are discussing in light of recent events in Flint, Mich.
Bennett will outline a specific project Jones & Henry completed for the Northwestern Water & Sewer District in Bowling Green, Ohio. This project involved the replacement of 370 lead water services using a proactive response Jones & Henry developed specifically for this regional water and sewer district.
Another topic of conversation will be the “paperless project concept” Jones & Henry utilized to streamline design document preparation for the lead water service replacement project.

From 10:15 – 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 5, Bennett will present on another recent project: the Maumee River Water Transmission Main.
He will explain how Jones & Henry worked with the City of Waterville, Ohio, to design a new waterline connection under the Maumee River. The new water main included 1900-feet of water main constructed 40-feet below the Maumee River in solid bedrock crossing under and next to many sensitive environmental and cultural features. The presentation will include some guidance on best practices for designing a maxi-horizontal directional drilling pipeline project.
