Sandusky County White Star Park Utilities and Restroom Improvements

Posted on: August 3, 2018

White Star Park has always been one of Sandusky County Park District’s top recreational facilities with swimming, diving and camping facilities, but improvements designed by Jones & Henry and their partner, Thomas Porter Architects of Toledo, Ohio, are about to make the Park a top regional destination.

Situated on the site of an old stone quarry, White Star Park is set to receive two new restroom facilities as well as a beach house at the beach and a shower house at the campground.

The new structures were a collaborative effort between Thomas Porter and Jones & Henry.

These facilities required the extension of public water and sanitary sewer collection utilities designed by Jones & Henry Engineers.  Funding for these projects was secured by a loan obtained from the Ohio Water Development Authority (OWDA) and the Park District’s most recent levy.

This project involved the construction of 17,000-feet of 2-inch through 8-inch diameter piping along with a new water meter and backflow piping, as well as five new grinder pumping units.

Jones & Henry is proud to have been part the upgrades to this popular recreational facility located just south of Gibsonburg, Ohio.
